* Competency unit SITHFAB005 has a pre-requisite competent unit of SITXFSA001 which is undertaken prior to training of SITHFAB005.

HLTHPS006 – ASSIST CLIENTS WITH MEDICATION

1 Day Workshop with compulsory additional requirements and assessments to be completed outside of the workshop within the workplace

DELIVERY OUTLINE:

The program consists of a 1 – Day Workshop, which will include initial assessments, followed by a period of time for the learner to complete tasks in a workbook as well as application of medication assistance/administration under supervision in the workplace.

The final assessment is performed in the learner’s workplace at a date and time to be negotiated between the trainer/assessor and the learner’s workplace. Ideally this would occur 4-6 weeks following the workshop. This will give the learners time to complete their workbook tasks.

Upon successful completion of the training program the learner will be issued a statement of attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication.

LEARNER COHORT:

This training program is for people who are employed as Disability Support Workers, Residential Aged Care Workers and Community Aged Care Workers. Examples of work role titles may include: Individual Support Worker, Personal Care Attendant, Home Care Worker, or Extended Care Assistant.

This program will equip the Support Worker with the knowledge and skills required to prepare for and provide assistance with medication administration, including assisting a client to self-administer.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST have access to 5 different clients who you can assist with 5 different medications within your workplace in order to meet the requirements of the training package.


HOBART

Workshops are held at our training rooms in Hobart, however if you have a minimum of 9 participants (negotiable), our trainer can deliver the program in your workplace anywhere within Tasmania.

First Aid Training

 1 day course consisting of 3 nationally accredited competency units.

  • HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
